We have new collections of work by artists Fletcher Prentice and Louise Davies to add to the Summer Group Show.
Fletcher continues to invite us into the maintained wilderness of his garden. Flower borders teem with amethyst alliums and extravagant parrot tulips, as the early summer garden inspires his recent work. Fletcher is a keen gardener, with his studio situated in the middle of an area he has sown with meadow flowers.
Rolling hills in cool hues, glowing sunsets in radiant tones and semi-abstract panoramas are all prominent features in Louise Davies prints. She connects with the countryside that surrounded her growing up in the West of England through her process. Louise extracts saturated colours, building them up in translucent layers to describe the ever-changing elements of nature. By creating a sense of place and tapping into shared memories of landscape, she offers the viewer a sensory encounter.
Both collections are now on display at the gallery in the Summer Group Show.
