We are beyond excited that Emily Powell’s solo exhibition ‘The Fundamental Importance of Nature’ launches this weekend. Emily will be in attendance from 12-4pm – everyone is welcome to come along and say hello.
Painter and colourist Emily Powell rose to prominence in the last three years, when the world was looking for something joyful, nurturing and filled with hope. Her career as flourished rapidly, with her exhibiting with the Royal Society of Art, collaborating with MoMA, the National Galleries of Scotland and The British Museum. She was also part of the 2020 BBC Documentary for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition Show. She has also received an invitation to paint the front entrance at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Emily’s distinctive, unbridled aesthetic and playful openness has earned her thousands of followers on social media. Her solo show with us is hugely anticipated, and we cannot wait to show you what she’s been working on. The exhibition will focus on our human need for nature. She says ; ‘Nature is a place to reset. It's the place you're meant to be, it's there for you whatever your emotions. There are so many good shapes and shades to record. It's the sort of good that lights up your whole being and looks after you.'
