Eddie Knevett creates bold vessels, visually inspired by the Jerry Anderson imagery of Thunderbirds and Caption Scarlett & The Mysterons, along with dazzle camouflage used on warships during WWI.
Exploring the element of chance in making his vessels, Eddie says, 'you have to accept that luck plays a strong part in how your work turns out, you cannot completely control everything.’ He uses torn paper to create spontaneous shapes on coloured matt finish clays against the pot’s white stoneware or black earthenware.
Eddie’s background in High Fashion took him to many wonderful and far-flung places, often meeting incredible craftspeople and artists. During his career, Eddie always collected ceramics, and after a career change and a move to St. Leonards-on-Sea, he shifted his attention to making ceramics, and now it has become his focus.
