This September Sarah Wiseman Gallery takes Oxford as its inspiration with three artists exploring the city.

The main focus of the exhibition sees Alison Pullen return to gallery for her second solo exhibition. The exhibition will focus on of Alison's stunning interiors of Oxford, she has returned to the Bodleian and Christ Church as well as having had access to Green Templeton College and Worcester College.

David Atkins will also present new work which will is a continuation of his ‘Oxford in Winter' exhibition, March 2009. In this collection he will be exhibiting the paintings he has been working on over the summer months, capturing the hustle and bustle of the city bathed in sunshine.

Ceramic artist and photographer David Rhys Jones has produced a unique collection of his ceramic wall pieces based on Oxford. These highly collectable editions will be exclusively launched through the gallery as part of the exhibition. David is one of this year's winners of the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize. Read more

New Artist - Elaine Jones

Elaine's abstract paintings capture the intensity of light, atmosphere and serenity represented in our unique environment. "Colour, alongside texture, is the main ingredient to my work. I am particularly interested in the contrast between heavily textured areas and the very flat, serene and blended areas of paint". See more

New Ceramics - Virginia Dowe

Virginia Dowe uses a combination of hand building techniques to create gourgeous and playful ceramic stoneware dogs. The spotty and patchy dogs that she produces are the result of smoke-firing. See more
